    160 miles of rolling terrain before a cat 2 climb to finish. Tough one to call, like yesterday!

    No changes from me (I fancy Battaglin & EBH but can’t fit them in, and saving the transfers), but what about YOU!?

    Bit of historic resonance for me too; my grandad fought at Montecassino in WWII and was also a passionate cyclist & clubman (had his own shop, in fact). If he was still around I’m sure he’d be satisfied to see the battle’s 70th anniversary commemorated with a great bike race.

    Another crap day at the ranch. Oh well, at least I should get the bookends and LR badges today. Better than nothing. I don’ think I’m likely to get a full set of badges on this (or any other comp) but that’ll make 7 so I should get over half by the end.

    Didn’t catch any of today, but from what it sounds like it was a pretty horrible crash. A shame to see Purito out of the running so early. BMC will be delighted, can’t imagine Cadel will do any less than podium now, barring accident.

    Similarly morally bankrupt to Twybados I slapped a fiver on him at 10/1 each way for GC before the race started.

    Interesting to see Basso hanging in there; tenth on GC now. I’d written him off.

    I’m permanently disgusted with Cuddles. How a man so unsportsmanlike has the cheek to complain when anyone else does anything outside of his queensbury rules of cycle racing I don’t know.
    Still put him in my team though – no morals.
