160 miles of rolling terrain before a cat 2 climb to finish. Tough one to call, like yesterday!

No changes from me (I fancy Battaglin & EBH but can’t fit them in, and saving the transfers), but what about YOU!?

Bit of historic resonance for me too; my grandad fought at Montecassino in WWII and was also a passionate cyclist & clubman (had his own shop, in fact). If he was still around I’m sure he’d be satisfied to see the battle’s 70th anniversary commemorated with a great bike race.

At one point yesterday I thought I was quids in as EBH,J-Rod and who I thought had to be Cunego were careering to a 1-2-3…..then Purito got busted by Cadel,EBH finished last of the first group and the Lampre rider was proven to be Ulissi(easy mistake…the PAID commentators on Eurosport had him as Niemiec!!)…….watch the replay of the last 15 minutes at

and pretend you’re rooting for those 3 if you don’t believe me!!

3 changes today…Ulissi and Arredondo in for Oss and Durbridge plus Uran in for J-Rod as it was the only way to afford the first two.

2 transfers in the bank so 4 transfers available tomorrow.

    Ulissi
    Uran
    Kelderman
    Matthews
    Tjallingi
    Boassen-Hagen

Yeah, its a fairly flat last
Yeah, its a fairly flat last km so my reading of it was that Orica and Sky will want to work for Matthews and EBH, but someone like Battaglin might nip in there like last year, plus Evans/Ulissi etc. Thats just a guess though really, could just as easily see a break stay out, or a smaller group at the finish.

I brought in Battaglin for Fedi anyway…

    Ulissi
