Yes, it’s Prime Day Deals time again! This year, it’s coincided almost exactly with a period of ridiculously hot weather here in the UK. Make of that what you will.

In this round of Amazon’s semi-regular discounts, the enormous internet tat shop is reducing prices on just about everything, including some decent cycling kit (it’s not all tat if you look hard enough). In this round-up, we’ve selected the best stuff we could find, avoiding anything with a weird brandname like BIKEYPLOPS, and trying our best to find genuine price reductions rather than ‘discounts’ that are actually higher than previous prices.

We’re very much aware that Amazon is not for everyone, but buying deals here does help us cover the ever-increasing costs of running the world’s best cycling website. You’ll need a Prime account to take advantage of these prices, but you can usually take out a free or discounted trial and cancel it immediately.

You’ll also find that most normal retailers will match these prices, so buy with them if you’re not a fan of funding Bezos’ next extraterrestrial trip. If we find any of these products cheaper elsewhere, we’ll say so.

Right, to the deals!

The Wahoo Elemnt Bolt V3 computer is down to £253.99 with 15% off

Wahoo started strong with its original Bolt bike computer, a small, simple and robust GPS unit that a lot of road cyclists still swear by. Since its release, Wahoo has made incremental upgrades that have improved the screen, battery life, and storage capacity, while maintaining a compact footprint. We’ve been fans of each iteration, including the most recent one

At £253.99, the latest edition is a worthwhile investment for many years of cycling, and Wahoo’s support is second-to-none. It’s currently the lowest price we can find, so if you were after one anyway, now might be the time to take advantage.

29% off Garmin Fēnix 8, 43mm

Garmin Fēnix 8

Prime Day Deals usually include at least one Garmin bike computer, but they’re conspicuous in their absence this year. We’ll have to make do with Garmin’s do-it-all Fēnix 8 smartwatch, which offers most of the features of a dedicated bike unit in a handy wrist-based format.

We’ve picked the slightly smaller 43mm unit here because it’s the first time its price has been this low, and its svelte form factor and white colourway don’t make it look like you’ve somehow got an Oreo stuck to your arm. If you want to go bigger, the 47mm unit is also reduced by 28%. Take a look at George’s review of the Pro edition to find out more.

40% off Beats Powerbeats Fit Earbuds

Beats Powerbeats Fit Earbuds

We’d usually include Shokz headphones here, but despite being part of the Prime Day Deals, there are no substantial discounts on those particular bone-conduction audio transmitters. Instead, we’re highlighting these Powerbeats Fit earbuds, which have hit an all-time low price of £119.

While these don’t make use of bone-conduction tech, their in-ear fit provides better sound quality, and transparency mode ensures you can still hear what’s going on around you, as George highlighted in his review. They’re also built for exercise with sweat and water resistance, plus wingtips that ensure they stay in place when you’re pumping out the watts.

24% Off DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro Standard Combo

DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro

This was a tough choice: there are lots of reduced action cams on Amazon right now, but we’ve gone for DJI’s Osmo Action 5 Pro because it’s packed with features for a reasonable price. The star of the show here is a 4K, 1/1.3” sensor that works well in low light, which is typically a weak point for action cams.

Its £233 price point is the lowest it’s been, and the standard combo includes a neat quick-release adapter for GoPro-style mounts. Would you like to know more? Check out Dave’s review.

20% off Wahoo Speedplay Zero Pedal System

Wahoo Speedplay Zero

Just so we’re clear: the Speedplay Zero Pedal System doesn’t mean zero pedalling. But, for the act of propelling your bicycle, this Wahoo acquisition offers a level of adjustability that competing pedals can’t match. Bike fitters love them for solving biomechanical issues, while the interface is said to deliver power with utmost efficiency.

At £143.49, these are still pretty pricey, but if they mean you avoid a knee replacement they’re probably worth it.

Speaking from painful experience, cycling shorts aren’t something you want to skimp on. That said, Endura’s budget bike shorts got a decent review from Stu, who reckoned the all-important pad made up for the rather pedestrian design.

They were £58 when Stu reviewed them, so their Prime Day Deal price of £35.65 is utterly bargalicious.

The perfect glove for the current heatwave, the Hummvee mitt boasts ventilation to keep your hands cool, padding to protect your nerves, and protection for when you sink into the liquid tar of a molten road.

Prices and availability vary based on sizing, but £13.09 for the medium fit is a good price for a decent glove from a known brand.

20% off Redshift ShockStop Endurance Suspension Seatpost

Aimed squarely at the gravel and hybrid market, Redshift’s ShockStop seatpost adds suspension to your bike without the rigmarole of chopping your frame to bits to add a rear shock. Stu really liked it, but he had issues with the price tag.

At £183.99 in most sizes right now at Amazon, it’s a far more reasonable proposition, and Stu is much happier now.

Battery-powered pumps are all the rage at the moment, saving litres of elbow grease and pumping tyres to max within minutes. Cycplus is a pioneer in this arena, and its AS2 miniaturises the format even further, delivering 120 PSI pressure in an 87g unit.

Cycplus has also miniaturised the price for Prime Day, bringing it down to an all-time low of £88.82.

A must-have for riding on hot days, High5’s energy gels include electrolytes, so you can replenish all those minerals you’ve lost through sweating buckets. They also pack 23g of carbs, and anecdotally they’re easier on the stomach with fewer unmentionable side effects than some other gels.

At £13 for a pack of 20, or 65p per gel, now’s the time to grab some — and you can shove ‘em in the freezer to create some ridiculously sticky ice pops.

Continental Grand Prix 5000 tyres in a 30mm size are on offer for Prime Day… but you might be best sticking with Tredz

Continental Grand Prix 5000
Continental Grand Prix 5000 (Image Credit: Continental)

We’ll end on one where we’ve found a better price elsewhere, and that is Continental’s legendary Grand Prix 5000 tyres.

An absolute staple of the road riding scene in the UK and beyond, Stu gave them a nigh-on perfect 9/10 score when he reviewed them, noting their grip and durability. There is no tubeless compatibility here, but you can team them with TPU inner tubes to keep weight and rolling resistance low.

The Prime Day price on the 30c version is £44.64 per tyre… but Tredz can actually top that with a price of £43.99 for the 28c and 30c options. Amazon has a better range of sizes, however, and the 32mm version at £47.11 is the lowest we can find online right now.
