Made from hardened lazer cut steel, Pedros’ Trixie is a very clever tool with an equally slick name. There’s pretty much the full complement of fixed specific functions you’d need on an everyday basis including 15mm wrench for track nuts, 5mm Allen key stub, a curious serrated section tackling 8,9 &10mm bolts while doubling as a mounting point on the frame’s bottle bosses so you’ll never leave home without it (although you’ll need longer, aftermarket fittings should it share space with a bottle cage and/or mini-pump).
The Allen key and stepped section are very much emergency tools-the sort that’d get you out of a jam by the roadside but not those you’d instinctively reach for. Measuring a shade over seven inches long ensures plenty of leverage when tackling the most stubborn of track nuts. This length coupled with the inclusion of a lock-ring spanner elevates performance far beyond most pocket wrenches.
The seemingly compulsory “messenger” connection is the inclusion of a surprisingly useful bottle opener for those rest-stop beverages or post ride beer. Sound design and high standards of manufacture means it’s a good option for hub-geared commuters and others with solid axles. Good tools always repay their investment by not chewing bolts or other components at the crucial moment and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if this wrench spawned a host of imitators. For all its charms, I’d never leave the house except on the shortest of hops without a basic set of Allen keys-if only for peace of mind.

Laser cut hardened steel 4mm thick and 7 inches long with precision machining makes for a very dependable companion.
Allen key and stepped 8,9 & 10mm wrench felt low rent afterthoughts, albeit effective enough.
Should last many years
40g is hardly going to worry anyone.

Everything works very effectively and there’s plenty of leverage for good purchase on lockrings and track nuts, although the allen key could be a little fiddly.
