Dedicated site launched for London women

Women cyclists to have their say

An information site for women cyclists in London was launched at an event in the capital last night (Tues June 9)

SheSpokeLondon, set up by the LCC, aims to encourage women to get out on their bikes, share experiences and information and campaign for cycling rights.

Around 100 people turned out to the launch event at the Shortwave Cinema in Bermondsey Square, where ideas about the website and the kind of content women would like to see on it were shared.

Alison Waller, the LCC’s events officer, said: “This site will be a collaborative one in the sense that its content will directly reflect the experiences of women cyclists in London and what they’d like to get out of a site dedicated to them.

“The site has just gone live and it’s in its early stages of development so we would like to hear from as many women as possible with ideas for it.”

Two months ago Sustrans launched its own site aimed at women www.bikebelles.org.uk
