Cycle Heaven logo.York bike retailer Cycle Heaven plans new shop by city's railway station
York-based bike retailer Cycle Heaven plans to open a new shop on the site of the former Red Parcels depot at the historic city’s railway station.
According to the newspaper York Press, an application has been submitted to York City Council for the shop, which besides selling bikes would also hire them out as well as providing repairs and maintenance.
York City Council will reportedly make a decision on the plans next month, with the application from Cycle Heaven stating that the company wants to build a “smart, modern retail unit,” which it hopes will help follow on from work done to grow the number of cyclists in the city as a result of the Cycling City York programme.
As we reported in December, £550,000 is being invested on two new cycle paths that will provide improved access to York railway station.
