David's impressions of the Synapse Disc were wholly positive. Sell Italia's saddles pop up all over the place, a couple of weeks ago we featured a Colnago AC-R in a DealCatcher which was topped off with a Selle Italia X1 saddle.

We've reviewed numerous Selle Italia saddles, and they rarely if ever, dip below the 7/10 threshold for quality.

Suffice to say, you're getting quality when you buy Selle Italia, and you'll often pay for that privelidge.

Not today. Today, the Selle Italia C2 Gel, with its shock absorbing silicone gel pad and lightweight structure, is cheap.

The synapse carbon frame is the star of the show on these bikes. Not the lightest (but not heavy) but it's so compliant - stiff, great acceleration, fastest descending bike I've ever ridden.

Decathlon always have the saddle only a little more expensive than this:

Synapse is £2999 not £2299 as stated in the article. Still a good deal though and one I may have considered if I didn't already have the 2014 version, without discs. It really is a superb piece of kit.
