This dashcam footage shows the moment when a Chinese cyclist on an e-bike fell in the path of an oncoming lorry. Despite lying prone when the vehicle collided with him and being pushed around 10m along the road, the cyclist gets up afterwards and seems, for the most part, unharmed.
International Business Times reports that the video was shot in Nanling County which lies in the Anhui Province in the east of China.
The cyclist falls when trying to avoid a truck which has moved out from the other lane and is now bearing down on him. The truck also loses control and the two collide, sliding along and only coming to a stop when they hit the guardrail at the side of the road.
The impact is enough that the cyclist’s hat or helmet comes off and the driver and passenger from the truck appear hugely relieved when they get out and see that he hasn’t been killed.
“I saw the truck overtaking and rushing toward me, so I turned aside and fell down because of the icy road,” said the cyclist, named Cheng.
Cheng later received treatment in Gejishan Hospital in Wuhu and is reported to have needed one of his fingers amputating.

That is quite obvious mechanical doping!

All very confusing. So the lorry was on the wrong side of the road. Not the cyclist.
Lucky dude there. Snow and bikes aren’t a happy mix. Especially with crazy hgv drivers around.

I have heard of e-mopeds with pedals to go as e-bikes, but I think that’s just a moped
Certainly looks like a moped
Certainly looks like a moped not a bike. I suspect the ibtimes confusion comes from being an electric moped which I think may not unusual in China. Certainly not a bicycle and a tenuous one for a cycling website.
Cyclist, motorcyclist – lost
Cyclist, motorcyclist – lost in translation.
By the way quite often I can get round the compulsory youtube ad video by reloading the page…
