Van Nicholas Chinook TdF Limited Edition bike launched

Dutch titanium bicycle company launches special Tour de France edition Chinook model

Dutch titanium bicycle company Van Nicholas have launched the limited edition Chinook TdF bike to commemorate the 2014 Tour de France.

Using their regular Chinook frame as a starting point, which is one of their racier models with a more aggressive geometry, they’ve built it up with a Campagnolo Chorus groupset, Mavic Aksium wheels, Vredestein Fortezza Senso tyres and FSA finishing kit.

“The Chinook is our classic race machine,” said Ralph Moorman, General Manager. “So what better bike for our tribute to such a classic race? We designed the Chinook to be light, poised and positive. It’s perfectly suited to a day in the mountains, or putting the power down in the sprint: the ideal race-day machine.”

To make it stand out, they’ve added some rather subtle yellow accents, homage to the yellow jersey, in the frame decals, tyres, bar tape and saddle. The claimed weight for the complete bike is 8.8kg (19.40lb).

The complete bike, available in seven sizes from 50 to 62cm, costs £2,469 and numbers of course will be limited. Head over to special.vannicholas.com to take a closer look.
