Crit racing

First post here as I couldn't find anything else on the forum or internet.

My local council is looking at creating a floodlit traffic free cycle circuit, and have mentioned racing in the details although the plans show curb stones at the side like a road.

I was under the impression to hold BC crits you couldn't have a curb at the side of the track?

I realise the majority of usage of the track will be recreational but to turn off the racing aspect straight away seems a little short sighted.

Not sure about the BC rules, but Crits in town centres all have curbs, though they may be barriered off with pedestrian barriers I guess.

I would suggest that before they actually invest money into the project they check with BC to ensure it will be suitable for purpose?
