Car crashes into building - please post your Local news stories

Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes...

I just don't remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it's irresponsible.

'A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

"It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment." '

Wall reduced to rubble after car smashes into it in Oswestry at about 10pm on Wednesday evening. I'm struggling to work out how someone is so incompetent that they can't drive safely along Llwyn Road [street view]. Shropshire Star is putting more and more articles behind a paywall (£6/month ), including this one.

Flipped car flies at woman and child in Solihull

Quote:

A woman and her child were left shaken but unhurt when a car veered off a road and flipped on its side right in front of them.

The crash happened on Warwick Road in Olton, Solihull, at about 16:00 GMT on Saturday, West Midlands Police said.

CCTV footage showed the woman pushing her child in a buggy before the Peugeot mounted pavement, hit a post and turned over.

The woman driving the car suffered cuts, said the force, adding an investigation was under way and it was reviewing footage.

Cars are hunting pedestrians again.

So two passengers received serious injuries in separate crashes with trees in neighbouring towns. Sounds like a growing menace to me!

They should have to have number plates.

Isn't that for "Drivers and Their Problems"? From what I've read, the cars spontaneously fall over all of their own accord, that's got to be a problem for their drivers. Although, having said that, I'm not sure it can be DATP as there is so rarely a driver involved

They let you access a few free articles before you hit the (pay) wall. We can help each other with that.

All emergency services were called to the scene of the collision just before 5am.

The A41 was closed "between Tern Hill and Hinstock road" in both directions, according to West Mercia Operations & Communications Centre.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said they first received the call at 4.53am, reporting a crash involving an HGV and a van.

According to the fire service's incident log, one person was "released from the vehicle using Holmatro and specialist equipment" and left in the care of West Midlands Ambulance Service.

They said four fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Hodnet, Market Drayton and Wellington attended the RTC, with an operations officer also in attendance.

The fire service's involvement was over by 6.20am with the scene left to police and ambulance staff.

Craig Jackson of Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said on social media that crews "successfully rescued one casualty who was mechanically trapped within his vehicle.

"Casualty is now in the care of West Midlands Ambulance Service."

Police said the road was "slowly re-opening" at 7.37am.

Stupid woke trains, ruining a perfectly good straight bit of road by shoving rails on it. Come on, let's just share the space and let hard working, law abiding car drivers travel along there.

I think the premium ones have a gold-ish 'Plus' marker beside them.

There's a follow-up article after this morning's crash - "A driver has escaped with just minor injuries after he was trapped in his van under a lorry".

The A41 is notorious for collisions. Some fools like to blame the road but every time it's the f@*king idiot behind the steering wheel that is at fault. At around 8.40 on Tuesday a collision resulted in 2-mile tailbacks just north of Tern Hill. On 29 november a man died in a head-on collision on the same section and on 11 November 5 people were taken to hospital following a "significant" head-on crash near Hinstock at 10am. [article]

At 17:35 on 9 August 35 year old Paul Syrda was over 3 times the drink-drive limit when he crashed a Land Rover Discovery over a roundabout then careered half a kilometre down a Newport road.

Dashcam footage showed him driving over the central island of the roundabout just outside Newport before turning onto Forton Road, continuing about 600m into the town, swerving from side to side then crashed into some decorative boulders on the side of the road and rolled the car onto its side into a resident's front garden.

Michael Bolton of The Wheatlands, Bridgnorth was nearly double the drink drive limit when he overtook police at 85mph in his Ford Ranger. It's the second time he has been caught driving while pissed.

Utter c**ts both of them. Both cars should be sold and the money spent on speed enforcement.

The A41 between Newport and Whitchurch should have a 40mph limit with both fixed & mobile speed cameras. Dashcams in every vehicle.

Meanwhile 57 year old business owner and father of three Stephen Gingell was sentenced to 6 months in prison for peacefully marching for no more than 30 minutes with 40 other Just Stop Oil supporters. [JSO on twitter]

I was looking at that main street and thinking "that needs another couple of lanes, to reduce congestion.  And multi-storey car parking as it looks like parking might be an issue.  In fact, a flyover or two would really make it a nicer place as you could get about more quickly..."

He drove over the island? Blimey, that must have taken some effort as its not one of those "paint only" island: it has bloody huge tress and the like on it.

What a twat.
