I can't help but fiddle with my team. I guess it will be down to whichever team happens to be saved at the starting line.
Easy peasy
Arnaud Demare (FDJ)
Sylvain Chavanel (IAM)
Romain Bardet (ALM)
Jean-Christophe Peraud (ALM)
Arthur Vichot (FDJ)
Tony Gallopin (LTB)
Jerome Coppel (COF)
Sebastien Hinault (IAM)
Jonathan Hivert (BLK)
Alberto Contador (TSB)
Daniel Moreno (KAT)
Mikel Nieve (SKY)
Imanol Erviti (MOV)
Benat Intxausti (MOV)
Daniel Navarro (COF)
Jesus Hernandez (TSB)
Xabier Zandio (SKY)
Markel Irizar (TFR)
The 150 was slightly tougher on the French team.
GLT?? What is that when it is at home?
Hi chaps,
In as a warm up for the TDF.
Hope you are all well.
Welcome back
Quite a challenge, but not impossible. Ive gone for big names in purist, as I think there is enough predictable stages, with the summit finish on stage 2 early, likely to produce GC points. the so called flatter stages are more unpredictable, so got a couple of strongish guys that could compete from a reduced sprint.
As for standard, ive gone Kwit, but could easily swap him for Froome for stage 2. Got some decentish TTers, should have it all covered nicely.
Yep, another interesting starting 2 stages, quite a few decent priced TT / climbers. I think there will be some interesting combo's
Interesting , you thinking of selling Killer(Kwai) stage 2 , I thought he would be leading the Yth jersey and maybe even the GC. figured he be close in the yth even for climbers, haven't checked all the ages yet, but I believe it would be , TJ, Talansky , Kelder, Killer, yates maybe , I know a lot rate Ellisonde, Is Neive a youth cause I like him a lot.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, time to hit the books I guess.
Forgotten Giro , Fresh page can't wait
I have a fully French team and a fully Spanish team. Locked in and ready to go
Wow, what a challenge! What an interesting experiment! Why didn't I think of that?
.
Wow, did the budget make it hard for you to decide on your teams? That is more of a challenge than the budget!
.
You are so (!) creative! You come up with some incredible ways to play this game. That's pretty cool. I'm so (!) impressed with your creativity! Pretty (!) cool!
You're making me think about your team... That must (!) mean you don't have Froome or Kwiatkowski or Hesjedal or Porte or Nibali or Spilak or Konig or Yates or Kelderman or Thomas or Nizzolo or Impey or Demare or Gerrans or Fuglsang on any of your teams , but then you must have Chavanel, Peraud, Simon, Vichot and, of course, Voeckler, on your French team and you must have Contador, Moreno, Anton, Navarro, Lopez, and Zubeldia on your Spanish team...
Nice mental jigsaw puzzle to put together... I congratulate you
So, are you going to play them both Purist? And, if you had to take a wild guess, which one do you think will do better? I think your French team will do better on Stage 1 and, of course, your Spanish team will do great (!) in the mountains... So, if you play Purist your Spanish team should kick your French team's ass !
What an interesting concept... You certainly know how to entertain yourself (!)... I'll be watching carefully! Please (!) keep us updated! It'd be so (!) cool if you manage to win a stage with your novel concept (!). You just might (!) win one with both Vichot and Voeckler there (!) Cool (!) Amazing (!)...
Which reminds me, are we doing pick 3 Frenchmen?
No Chavanel, Simon, Vichot or Voeckler for the French team
No Lopez, Anton, Navarro or Zubeldia in the Spanish team
Spain should beat France I would think. Both are being played as purist, much the same as I did with the Giro teams. I have lost all interest in mens pro cycling and I am exploring other options for 2015.
Damn... No Chavanel or Voeckler?... I can't believe there'll be any Frenchmen other than Peraud who may score more points Am I mistaken?...
So was the budget an issue for you at all?
And Demare...
GLT cycling events?...
Ok, so I figure you must have Peraud, Demare, Alaphilippe and Reza on your French team... But what did you target for that team? Anything? Sprints? Did you care? Or was it just squeeze frenchmen in there? ...
Yep, Froome is a gonner!
From my team at least. Can't afford him.
8 good TTers in my team (although still plenty of days left to change it).
Kwia is the kwestion mark. Will he compete on those high summit finishes? Can't not include Contador, though.
There are a couple or three low value (<6.0) riders I've got reasonably high hopes for too... not telling, though!
Picked both teams and i quite like the look of my purist team even if i say so myself
The 150 is great and its made it quite difficult working out who and where my team will change.
I will still probably do sh*te
Hmmm. Toying with leaving Froome out.
Ha! No idea on this one. Gotta be Froome, you'd think.
Ok GKAM, the 150 limit has forced me to consider a mega Enrique Gambit for the Dauphine.
Basically I have sacrificed all the likely stage winners, Froome, Contador and Kwia and picked a squad of riders under 25.0 value, and most under 20, who might pick up the minor places. Could be a disaster but I cant see many under 10.0 value riders who will score and I would need at least five....eeek

That is a tough pick.
Both my teams picked
Standard has no 3.0 riders 150 credits exactly.
Purist has one 3.0 & three 3.? With 0.5 credits spare.
By the way, what start list are you guys using?...
Damn, these rider values are too high (!)...
Question for Dave; will you be scoring points for the cat 4 KOM in the stage 1 time trial? If so, will the top 5 KOM riders (even though there will only be 3) score positional points (as per normal KOM at end of stage). If so, you need to list the KOM positional points in your "information on scoring".
if they're scoring it then i guess we can, yeah. didn't notice the KOM, thanks
Someone will be moaning....I'd give you 1/10 on who it will be aswell.
At least this is going to be a challenge, pick a couple of top guys and you'll have to look at cheap guys.
For the life of me I can't figure out who...
and 150 challenging budget. I like
Let the moaning commence......
