The Kidderminster Killer and From Clee to Heaven audaxes
The Kidderminster Killer is legendary in the audax world for providing a tough day out. This classic event provides an epic 215km ride featuring 3,750m of ascent through rural and tranquil Shropshire, eventually leading into Montgomeryshire. It is not a ride to be underestimated with riders taking 10-14 hours to complete the route. It provides a true test of endurance.
From Clee To Heaven is shorter and easier but still provides a challenging ride. Based upon a figure of 8 route, this 120km ride circuits through western Worcestershire and around Shropshire's Clee Hills. Overall, the average ascent is 2,000m
Without the hills it might get boring quite soon on an alternative route. Though I might finally manage under 5h on the flat. Some of the climbs...
