Glacier Century Ride Iceland
The circuit on Snæfellsnes peninsula, going west of Snæfellsjökull Glacier and returning back via Vatnaleið (a moderate mountain pass), is exactly 100 miles long. Threading the coastline by bike along the roads of the peninsula is therefore by default a true Century Ride.
Like with any other Century Rides, we want to attract a wide range of bicyclists to participate. For us it does not matter if you are an experienced competitive cyclist or an owner of simple bike who just wants to try on a new challenge. Of course some minimum preparation is required to make the ride a pleasant experience. But please feel welcome to participate none the less.
Glacier Century Challenge starts and ends in Grundarfjörður, a town by the peninsula's north coast. This beautiful circuit is ridden in a counter-clockwise direction. For those who rather want to take on a bit less of challenge, feel free to consider the Half Glacier Century event.
Absolutely nothing to do with cycling directly, but just a reminder that the language used by politicians and the media can lead to very real...
I'm still not convinced by the Dutch Reach per se - I find the door pillars get in the way and you get a much clearer view by just having a good...
I have visited Guernsey and my wife goes there a few times a year for work. This act of premeditated violence shocks me. There are quite a lot of...
You could well be right. Personally, I think Avonvale Rd is just a disaster for having two way traffic. So many drivers think the traffic calming...
Although Muller Rd isn't great to cycle on (the north end, anyhow), it's certainly not the worst. I'm definitely in the "brave and bold cyclist" at...
Meh, he said "about" 75psi which is fair enough - ETRTO use 5 bar (72.5psi) as the limit, so 75psi is well within the error margin of the gauge on...
Norwich Airport is best part of 5miles from Norwich station, it's on a bypass/ringroad I wouldn't cycle it, though it's attempts at cycle infra...
Loads of cycling content on mastodon. Just need to follow the BikeTooter hashtag. I'm on Bluesky as well. Do not miss xitter one bit.
I quite like some of these and already have a few. I like the cactus holder and the build-your-own bike. Maybe even the cushion. I have a bicycle...
