Factor Bikes has revealed that it is entering the professional cycling peloton by sponsoring an as-yet-unnamed pro team in 2016.

Factor Bikes is a British manufacturer of the Vis Vires, one of the most revolutionary and futuristic road bikes we’ve ever tested at road.cc. With its full-length fork, split down tube and integrated stem, it’s a distinctive looking bike. And with a £10,000 price tag, it’s not cheap either.

– Review: Factor Vis Vires road bike

Retired professional racer David Millar rides a Factor, revealing to the world back in May that his new bike after hanging up his wheels at the end of the 2015 season would be a stealthy black Factor.

David Millar’s acquisition of a Factor followed the revelation that Baden Cooke, who retired from professional racing at the end of the 2013 season and is an  agent for Chris Horner, has a stake in Factor Bikes.

So with one ex-professional involved in the company and the high-profile David Millar riding one, could this be the connection to a professional team that will see a British brand step up to the pro ranks? The announcement makes no indication what level the team would be, we’re assuming a professional continental level team rather than a WorldTour squad.
