Gore’s M Gore Windstopper gloves manage to offer up loads of feel thanks to a minimalist design that uses a windproof and water-resistant backing plus thin, unpadded palm. They’re a superb choice for autumn and spring riding for anyone that wants weatherproofing without compromising sensitivity.

I’ve been hugely impressed by the cut and detail on Gore’s C7 summer riding gloves and these follow largely in that vein, with a simple and thin synthetic leather palm that offers superb feel, with silicone on the fingers to improve grip and a snot wipe on the thumb that’s surprisingly easy on your nose.
Weatherproofing is boosted with Gore’s Windstopper material making up the back of the glove. As the name suggests, it manages to block wind completely which really helps on chilly days but also adds in a useful element of water resistance. That’s all paired with a deep stretch neoprene wrist that’s nice and snug, syncs well with jacket and jersey sleeves and doesn’t allow any chilly draughts to get past. The shaping is also spot on, with no bunching or pressure points despite the close cut.
It all adds up to a glove that gives as much feel and sensitivity as the very best summer riding gloves, but with enough weather-proofing to turn them into a very respectable three-season prospect for UK riding – they’d work just as well on cooler summer days as they would in spring or autumn thanks to the very breathable nature of the material.
As well as this extremely bright fluoro colour scheme, the gloves also come in black, which is probably going to be more popular for off-road riding, but it makes a lot of sense if your gravel rides take in some road sections. There are also four sizes from XS to XL available and the price is actually pretty reasonable considering the quality and materials. They’ve quickly become a favourite for colder weather use and a super bulky full winter glove is overkill.
