It’s Friday and you know exactly what that means. It’s time for 5 cool things where we showcase the coolest kit that we’ve had come into the office ripe for testing. This week, we’ve got sticky rubber, plenty of bags, and some eco-friendly bike maintenance kit. Get stuck in.

Amplifi’s Hipster4 is a bum bag that’s designed to be slim, light and small enough for the bare essentials. It comes with a heap of features such as the brand’s AIRFLOW back ventilation system, a self-fixing hip belt, and space for a hydration bladder.

This particular model comes from Amplifi’s Glacier series which uses 100% recycled PET fabric for the outer.

Michelin Force AM2 tyres

£52

The Michelin Force AM2 is the brand’s fast rolling tyre that’s been designed to remain grippy in hardpack to mixed terrain, or even trail centre conditions. They come built with a lower profile centre tread to aid rolling and the shoulder knobs are larger to retain grip while cornering.

Our test tyres come with the brand’s GUM-X compound that features a harder rubber on the centre tread and a softer compound making up the shoulder knobs. Then, there’s Gravity Shield tech which is a high-density bead-to-bead fibre that should hopefully shrug away sidewall cuts and punctures.

Ergon GFR1 Factory grips

£38 – £41

The GFR1 is Ergon’s freshest grip having been designed alongside Tahnee Seagrave and her racing team pals. These grips come with a slim shape for maximum feedback but the ribbed palm section should hopefully offer some good damping. Around the finger section, the grips get a pronounced rubber bits with the aim of keeping grip forces as low as possible when lifting the front wheel.

This grip comes with either a black or an oil slick colour, with the former costing £38 and the latter £41.

In its reusable box, you’ll get a bottle of wet chain lube, a bottle of Green Clean, some Degreaser Jelly, an EcoRag, a wooden brush, a couple of bike armour stickers and the icing on the cake, a pack of seeds so you can turn that leftover box into a little planter.

Going off to Ty is a number of bags from Birzman and the Packman lineup. He’ll be testing the saddle pack, handlebar pack and frame pack.

The saddle pack features a saddle rail rack and adjustable side compression straps to make it as stable and rattle-free as possible. There’s then a waterproof roll-top carrier and velcro fasteners.

The frame pack comes as part of a modular frame pack system from Birzman. Pair it with the Planet frame pack and you’ll be rewarded with a full 5L of carrying capacity. This bag comes with velcro fasteners including an extra strap, enhancing attachment possibilities

Finally, the handlebar bag is designed with a three-point attachment method for greater stability on the bike. Then, it employs EVA foam pads to avoid any damage to your bike’s frame. It then comes with a roll-top carrier, allowing for flexible capacity.
