Fear not, we aren’t going whole hog on Coronavirus scaremongering this week. Aside from some cancelled events, there is a host of other more interesting news too. A 16 year old wins a Crankworx whip off, there’s a new uber wide gravel bar in production and TranzX reveal a travel adjustable dropper for Salsa bikes. Salsa have teamed up with TranzX to make a travel adjustable dropper post in order to get a better fit for all heights of riders across the range. The post is adjustable by -30mm from full travel, so down to 120mm on a 150mm post in 5mm increments. So what you might think? That doesn’t solve the lack of insertion problem and I don’t care because I don’t own a Salsa or want to buy one….. Well, think again – if TranzX now has the tech, even if funded by Salsa for the time being, it might not be long before you and I can get our hands on a cheaper dropper post which we can adjust. On a budget, can’t fit a 200mm but could make use of 190mm – watch this space.

Farr reckons the gravel bike handlebar needs a redesign, they with the help of Nitto have come up with the Farr Wide-R bar which at it’s widest is 750mm at the end of the drops and 600mm at the hoods.

Friday saw the launch of a new Deviate bike with a high pivot. This is the Highlander, its a short travel (140mm rear), 29er with some progressive geometry. We reckon it looks great and this video is pretty mint too, well worth a watch.

There’s nothing on Mountain Mayhem’s Instagram but this week they were the first UK cycling event to be cancelled citing the reason as being unable to take out cancellation insurance in the wake of Coronavirus. Dean Barnett appears to be part of the race venue, Marston Lodge, and on Friday posted the below, appearing to tease a new mountain bike race on the same weekend. We will give you more news as we hear it.

Bespoked UK Handmade Bicycle Show has been postponed due to Coronavirus, the organisers says that they felt their celebration of bikes will be compromised if travel is restricted. They have announced new dates as the 16-18th October 2020. 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Bespoked 2020 postponed until October 16th – 18th 2020 due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) Bespoked is a celebration of our global community and under the shadow of the Coronavirus it feels this celebration will be severely compromised. The show attracts exhibitors, visitors and press from around the world and with travel being restricted and concerns about the spread of the virus, the May show would not be the enjoyable event for which it is renown. The safety and enjoyment of all who attend Bespoked is paramount. Taking into account current information and guidelines from the World Health Organisation, NHS and the UK Government and listening to the concerns of our exhibitors the decision has been made to postpone the show to mid-October.
