The Lezyne Lever Patch Kit is an all in one patch kit and tyre lever combo all kept in place within a small aluminium case.

What you get in the kit is a pair of Lezyne Power Levers, that's tyre levers to you and me, nine glueless patches, a stainless steel inner-tube scuffer and one tyre boot, all conveniently and tidily held together by an aluminium sleeve that's available in a selection of blingy colours. All the little puncture bits fit inside the aluminium case and the tyre levers, sorry Power Levers, press fit on either side to keep it all secure. It's really rather cute and neat.

Neat, but useful? The tyre levers are made from a Composite Matrix and are efficient tyre removers, and although they do bend worryingly under the strain of a particularly tight bead they haven't snapped.

The stainless steel tube scuffer is small and frighteningly effective at roughening up an inner tube to offer a good purchase for a patch. It's also handy for removing roadside bunions, or as a Parmesan grater for hamsters.

The glueless patches are incredibly good and have certainly dispelled any fears harboured from instant patches used in the past. They're very thin, made from a synthetic rubber and are very sticky making them a permanent repair rather than just a get-you-home temporary fix. And with a diameter of 25mm they're exactly the same width as a flattened road inner tube, so there's adequate coverage without the need for awkward folding over the edge to affect a decent seal that you find with larger patches.

The usual voices at the back of the head that suggest the instant patch should be removed and replaced with a 'proper' patch once home have been ignored and there's been no loss of air or dramatic explosions. If you run out of patches you can buy them separately. Finally the little list of instructions for patching a tyre aren't just there for the ignorant, they have a self-adhesive backing to use as a tyre boot should you rip a sidewall. Handy.

Minimalists might want wonder why it all has to be wrapped up in a metal case. It keeps everything all in one place, yes, it looks nice, yes, and it keeps the contents dry, but it does take up a lot more room in the pocket/saddlebag than just some levers and patches. There is a little bit of room inside the case for a bit of money and a house key maybe so it could actually be a handy holdall if you're going uber-minimal.

Verdict

Kit with the best patches I've used- wrapped up in a pretty little alloy case.

Tell us what the product is for, and who it's aimed at. What do the manufacturers say about it? How does that compare to your own feelings about it?

The Lezyne Lever Kit is an all-in-one patch kit and tire lever combo. A durable aluminum case holds the patch kit while tire levers serve as press-fit end caps. The glueless patches conform to inflated tubes with an aggressive adhesive. The patch kit instructions have an adhesive backing to serve as an emergency tire boot. The durable, high strength, Composite Matrix tire levers have an aggressively shaped hook for quick tire bead removal. The kit includes a stainless steel scuffer. Patch refill kits are available.

It's a useful little all-in-one puncture fixing package.

As a lever and patches package it worked well, cute even.

The patches.

Tell us what you particularly disliked about the product

Packaging some tyre levers and patches in such a way was a little lost on me. Pretty though.

Did you enjoy using the product? Yes.

Would you consider buying the product? Not really, I have enough tyre levers already thanks and I don't need them packaged with a dinky aluminium case, I'll keep the patches and tyre boot though if that's okay?

Would you recommend the product to a friend? Most of my friends have enough tyre levers and various patches already as well. It would make a nice present though.
