Last year our sister site road.cc tested the Bombtrack Hook EXT, a 650b-wheeled adventure bike from the little known German company, and Mike gave it a glowing review. So naturally, when Bombtrack asked if we’d like to test the brand new carbon fibre version of this bike, we said yes, obviously. Wouldn’t you? I mean, just look at it!

So, the 2018 Bombtrack Hook EXT C is a carbon fibre frame and fork, massive clearance for the 650bx2.1in tyres, a full complement of eyelets for mudguards, racks and extra water bottles, and costs £3,000 with a SRAM Rival 1 groupset. On the scales, it’s a little over 9kg, so quite a bit lighter than the steel version, but you do pay an extra £800 for the lower weight, and potentially improved performance the carbon offers, though I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve ridden it.

So hit that big red play button above, sit back and watch me rattle through the key features of this interesting bike. Any questions, just sling them in the comments section here or over on YT. And yes, that is a no cycling sign in the background before you point it out…
