Prologo has expanded its saddle range with the Choice, described as the brand’s “first integrated road saddle.” It’s designed to consider the rider, saddle, and bike as a single system, featuring a carbon fibre rail concealed by “side wings” to enhance aerodynamics. Measuring 240mm in length, the Choice is available in two widths – 140mm and 147mm – and priced at £430.
This isn’t the Italian brand’s first move into integrated saddle design. Last year, Prologo released the Predator 01TT, a £1,182 model developed in collaboration with WorldTour teams including UAE Team Emirates–XRG, Ineos Grenadiers, and Team Visma | Lease a Bike.
Building on that project, the new Choice saddle comes in at roughly a third of the price and, like the TT model, is “designed to minimise aerodynamic drag coefficients,” making it Prologo’s first road saddle with this feature.
The brand adds that “aerodynamics, lightness, and modularity define a product designed to meet the demands of modern cycling – ever closer, in both philosophy and performance, to the world of Formula One.”
Unlike the Predator 01TT saddle, which was made as a single-piece unit, the Choice uses a nano carbon fibre rail “hidden” by two side wings. These are designed to “shield the frontal airflow and channel it toward the rear of the saddle”, according to Prologo.
Two screws at the rear of the saddle allow the rail to be separated from the carbon shell, making it possible to replace individual components in the event of damage. Prologo says this approach improves sustainability without compromising quality, performance or structural integrity.
As well as this, Prologo says the design goes beyond the saddle itself, having been developed as a complete system that considers the rider, saddle and bike together. A reduced stack height and an “optimised connection between rail and base” are intended to increase stiffness, improving power transfer and delivering more controlled handling, particularly on technical descents.
That system-based approach reflects a broader trend in cycling, where components are increasingly designed to function as part of a unified rider–bike setup rather than in isolation.
The shape has also been developed with modern racing speeds and contemporary frame geometries in mind, according to Prologo, helping riders maintain an aerodynamic position for longer without sacrificing comfort.
In terms of weight, the Choice is claimed to be 152g – only 17g heavier than the Predator 01TT.
Pricing and availability
The Prologo Choice saddle is 240mm in length and is offered in two widths – 140mm and 147mm – and is available now via Prologo’s website as well as authorised dealers, priced at £430.
While not as expensive as the £1,182 Predator 01TT, this is still very much a premium saddle. The Vento Argo 00 Adaptive is the most expensive saddle in Fizik’s range, priced at £399.99, and the Selle Italia SLR Boost Tekno is the bran’s most expensive priced at £429.99.
