The Vittoria Terreno T80 Coarse Loose Gravel Endurance is a gravel tyre with clear cyclocross heritage, and that legacy shows in its performance. Off-road grip and traction are excellent across a wide range of surfaces and conditions. It is not a fast-rolling option, and the pronounced arrow tread can look a little unusual, but if you need a tyre for muddy or otherwise sloppy terrain, it performs very well.

Vittoria Terreno T80 Coarse Loose Gravel Endurance tyre – Technical Details
Vittoria positions the Terreno T80 as a tyre for coarse and loose surfaces, and its tread pattern draws heavily on classic cyclo-cross designs. The double-arrow-shaped centre knobs and round shoulder dots clearly echo patterns first seen on the Dugast Typhoon and later on the Challenge Griffo. It is also worth noting that Dugast, long associated with high-performance cyclo-cross and road tubulars, is now part of the Vittoria group.
The Terreno T80 uses Vittoria’s Endurance Casing built around a 100 TPI nylon structure. The construction includes an anti-puncture belt across the crown, a bead shield for added protection at the bead, reinforced nylon sidewalls and added measures to improve lateral stability. The casing is designed for durability and day-to-day reliability rather than the lowest possible weight.
The range covers 33, 37, 40, 45 and 50mm widths. The 33mm option functions as a cyclo-cross tyre, while the larger sizes are aimed squarely at gravel. Tyres from 40mm upwards are available with brown or black sidewalls. Narrower options are black only. Vittoria also produces a lower-cost 26 TPI Sport version in folding and rigid formats, limited to a 33mm width.
My 45mm test samples have a claimed weight of 540g. Measured weights of 542g and 531g are close to that figure and competitive for a tyre of this width with an endurance-focused casing rather than a race construction.
Vittoria Terreno T80 Performance
Fitting the Terreno T80 is not the easiest, but it is manageable. I needed a tyre lever, and they were noticeably tighter than the T60 Pro I recently tested. They were mounted on both the ERE Research Tenaci GT25 and Hunt Proven Carbon XC UD wheelsets with similar effort required. Once installed, seating the beads was straightforward and achievable with a track pump.
The inflated profile is distinctive. The arrow centre tread creates a pronounced high point, and the very rounded shape means the profile drops sharply once the central arrows end. Visually, it is unusual, but at normal riding pressures in the low to mid 20s PSI, it is barely noticeable on the road. Even at 40 PSI, where I tested whether the transition could be felt when leaning, any sensation is subtle and likely influenced by expectation rather than clear feedback.
What is noticeable on roads is slower rolling compared with more race-focused designs, along with a distinct drone from the tread. Given that the T80 sits at the more aggressive end of Vittoria’s gravel range, this is no surprise. Off-road, the behaviour improves markedly.
Traction is very strong across most surfaces. On hard-packed forest tracks, you do not need something this aggressive, but the grip remains good. Performance on grass, both wet and dry, is excellent and among the best I have used for open moorland-style terrain. Despite the relatively modest tread height, the tyres slip far less than expected on damp grass.
The open tread clears mud well. In deeper sections, provided the tyre can reach firmer ground, forward drive remains good. Rock and stone handling is a highlight, particularly on wet and off-camber lines where confidence remains high for a tyre of this size. The rounded profile gives a predictable approach angle and, counterintuitively, the lack of sipes contributes to a very planted feel at lower speeds on technical ground.
The compound feels firm, which adds some harshness to the ride, yet the casing still has enough suppleness to flex under load. This creates an unusual sensation at times, with a relatively rigid tread sitting over a more compliant carcass, but it does not negatively affect control.
Testing covered bleak autumn and winter conditions, including plenty of hedge-cutting debris. The tyres have been reliably puncture-free with no signs of thorn penetration. The firm tread should also translate into good long-term durability.
Vittoria Terreno T80 Verdict
Vittoria prices the Endurance range competitively at £55 per tyre. Until recently, this was the top tier within the lineup, now surpassed by the Pro range, such as the T60 Pro. Kenda is one of the few brands that come close to price with models like the Crusher.
There are relatively few gravel tyres aimed at looser or muddier conditions with an open tread comparable to the Terreno T80. The Pirelli Cinturato S is one of the closest alternatives. It shares similar strengths and weaknesses, but is also more expensive and not especially impressive in some off-road situations. The Schwalbe G One RX Pro is more race-focused and costs more, but if you want speed on softer ground, it performs well. If cost is no barrier and your riding does not involve sticky mud, the Vittoria T60 Pro remains the standout for performance.
The Vittoria Terreno T80 has a tread pattern rooted in cyclo-cross, and it shows in how well it handles more demanding off-road terrain. It delivers confident traction in wet and dry conditions across varied surfaces and works particularly well when run at appropriate pressures. It is not a fast tyre, but it is reliable and offers excellent grip, making it a strong choice for autumn and winter gravel riding.
