The Capra has been a staple of the YT Industries’ range for years now and, for 2023, the brand has taken the Core 3 and has tweaked its kit list, bringing it up to date with wireless shifting and race-proven RockShox suspension.

The Capra is YT Industries’ enduro ripper and, in Core 3 guise, it benefits from a high-modulus carbon frame. Like the rest of the line-up, it comes in two models: 29 or MX (mullet). The 29 version gets a longer chainstay, leaning towards climbing performance with a more linear suspension curve to offer the most traction possible.

As for the MX, that’s built with the aim of being ideal for bike park shredding, getting a more progressive suspension kinematic and a shorter chainstay.

But the spec is where the magic is really happening on this occasion as YT Industries has given it a proper shake-up. The Core 3 runs a RockShox Zeb Ultimate fork with 170mm of squish with the latest Charger 3 damper, updated DebonAir+ air spring, and the fresh Buttercups tech. Handling the rear travel is a RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate, nicely complementing the Capra’s V4L kinematic.

Bumping up the bling, the Capra Core 3 benefits from SRAM’s GX Eagle AXS shifting, rustling up reliable and cable-free gear changes, and the bike is kitted with the new AL2014 bar and stem combination.

Though the brand hasn’t gone too crazy, there’s some kit we’ve come to expect and we appreciate on a Capra Core 3. That includes the YT Postman dropper post, SRAM Code R brakes, and the Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro wheels, which get special front and rear tunes. The brand has changed the tyre suppliers so the bike with an ultra-tacky Maxxis Assegai/Terra DHR II front/rear combination.

As for pricing, the latest YT Industries Capra Core 3 will set you back £4,600.
