The Ripcord is Transition’s burly, full-suspension kid’s bike that’s made to help them keep up with adults. Every component on the Ripcord is carefully considered for kids’ smaller bodies, many of them being kitted on the brands’ bigger bikes.

Rolling on 24″ wheels the Ripcord is the bike aimed those hard-charging kids that are keeping up with their folks.  Those 24″ wheels are wrapped in a Maxxis Minion DHF 3c 2.4 at the front and a DHR 3c 2.4 at the rear. These are the same tyres as you’ll find on the adult range of bikes.

The bike is specced with Shimano MT400 brakes not just because they’re capable brakes but for their lever reach adjustment which is great for smaller hands. These stoppers are paired with 160mm rotors.

The suspension is pretty sorted too. Providing the 100mm of squish at the front is a RockShox 30 Silver with black stanchions and a RockShox Monarch R for the 100mm of rear travel.

The brand has put some consideration into the gearing on the Ripcord. The bike runs on Srams NX 11 speed groupset with an 11-42 cassette to help with the steepest of climbs.

It also comes with a Spank Spoon 40mm stem.
