Shimano has unveiled three new and updated cycling glasses designed to boost the riding experience for cyclists of all levels and disciplines. The Technium, Technium L, and Twinspark models come with Shimano’s Ridescape lens technology, which enhances colours and highlights surfaces across various terrain types.

The Ridescape lens technology boasts six different lens options that cater to different riding conditions and terrain “from extremely sunny days on the road to riding through mixed shadows on a forest trail or chasing the dimming light of an evening gravel ride”.

The Technium eyewear is a full-frame design pair of cycling glasses with three lens options, built for all-day comfort on various terrain. The glasses feature fog-reducing vents integrated into the top and bottom of the lens to keep your vision clear even when conditions change unexpectedly and a reversible nose pad allows for adjustable fit and soft temple grippers that keep the specs in place.

The three lens options for these specs are the RD for road cycling, OR for mountain biking and GR for gravel riding. Each pair also comes with an interchangeable clear lens for low-light conditions. The frames are constructed with 45% bio-based materials, reducing carbon emissions during production.

The Technium L model features a featherweight half-frame design and weighs a mere 26 grams, according to Shimano. Despite the lightweight construction, these glasses have a wide, one-piece lens design for optimal protection and comfort.

Like its full-frame counterpart, the Technium L has three Ridescape lens options (RD, OR, and GR) and includes an interchangeable clear lens. But, it also offers a Photochromic Gray lens option, which adjusts its tint based on UV light exposure.

The Twinspark model is the most affordable option in the lineup, featuring a lightweight half-frame frame design paired with a daytime-tuned, one-piece Ridescape HC lens. This daytime lens effectively filters out harsh glare from the tarmac and sharpens surface details.

Just like the Technium and Technium L models, Twinspark specs are scratch-resistant, water-repellent, and feature Shimano’s new clarity-enhancing and BPA-free polyamide lens.

Price: £60

The glasses are available now and further details can be found on Shimano’s website
