Known for a range of budget friendly but effective mountain and gravel bike components, PNW Components has listened to customers and has entered the apparel game with the all-new ’21 Fall Trail Collection. The line gets a bunch of handy but thoughtful features with an understated aesthetic and PNW’s ‘affordable luxury’ ideology.

PNW Components’ new clothing range is made up of three garments, a unisex jacket, and jersey, along with a men’s specific short. Within the collection, you’ll find everything that PNW has always wanted but could never find from a clothing line.
First up is the Lander Jacket. With it, PNW Components has aimed to strike the fine line between breathability and weather protection. It’s made with a DWR coating to keep the elements at bay but also gets the brand’s Anti-Flop technology.
Anti-Flop tech makes use of the usually unused real estate at the back of the jacket where you’ll find two large zips at either side. It uses a removable internal belt that’s designed to keep your stash of trail snacks, or anything else you would like to carry, close to your body so it can’t flop around.
The Lander Jacket is then built with a helmet-friendly hood and it comes in six sizes from XXS up to XXL.
Next, there’s the Ozone jersey. To use PNW’s words exactly, “the Ozone is like the overachieving lovechild of a technical riding jersey and your favourite old T-shirt.”
It’s made using a mix of 20% wool and 80% polyester to create a short sleeve jersey that’s breathable, moisture-wicking, quick-drying and anti-bacterial. Another great touch is that it’s built using Bluesign approved fabric, guaranteeing that it meets the highest environmental standards of the textile industry.
To make the jersey more biking friendly, it gets longer than normal sleeves and a contoured hem drop tail not only to look cool, but to also keep crud from getting in places where you don’t want it.
For comfort, the jersey is built with flatlock seams, textured thread, and laser perforations for a bit of airflow.
Wrapping up PNW’s new collection is the men’s specific Shuttle short. It’s constructed using a four-way stretch fabric, much like the Lander jacket. It also gets a DWR coating to keep you dry.
At each thigh, there’s a zipped pocket that’s big enough to become home for a plus-sized phone and they’re secured to the short itself, so the pockets shouldn’t flap about around your knees.
PNW says that the fit features a long inseam with a contoured hem at the knee, avoiding the dreaded knee gap.
As for prices, PNW Components expects them to fluctuate somewhat due to exchange rates but the PNW buying website performs real-time conversion to other currencies when you buy. As it stands, the Lander jacket will set you back £109, the Ozone jersey will cost, £43 and the Shuttle short is £72.
