Another week is done and dusted, we’ve been out and about at the Cycle Show this week checking out yet more new bikes and kit. Meanwhile back at the office the postie has been and left us some goodies to test, bikes included!

Being cooped up indoors surrounded by hundreds of bikes out of place and on show against their fake mountainous backgrounds has made us eager to get outside and ride – some kit is going to get a battering this weekend!

Marin Rift Zone 3

We’ve got two totally different bikes in for test this week, first up is this Marin Rift Zone 3. On the hunt for ideal UK trail bikes we looked to Marin to see what they might be able to supply. For £2,300 the Rift Zone 3 could well be the answer to your 120mm 29er prayers. This bike will be available to buy from December but we’ve got one in super early to ride and review. We are looking forward to putting some big miles in on the Rift Zone, the basic geometry looks pretty pleasing (420mm seat tube, 441mm reach, 1156mm wheelbase a 74.8 degree seat angle and a 67.5 degree head angle on a medium), will it leave us satisfied or wanting more?

Specialized Enduro Comp

We’ve already told you all about this one over in our ‘first look’, so make sure you check that out and watch the unboxing video too! This 2018 version of the Spesh Enduro has been tweaked and lengthened to keep up with its competition and we’ve chosen to test the cheapest model of this bike to find out if you get all the bang for less buck.

Scott Women’s Waterproofs

In for test from Scott is the Trail MTN Dryo 30 Jacket, Trail MTN Dryo 20 Jacket and Trail MTN Dryo 50 shorts. This bright and colourful kit looks bang on the money where fit and function are concerned so only time and testing will tell if the gear performs as well as it looks. Scott says the kit is all fully waterproof with bonded zippers and welded seams alongside laser cut holes for ventilation making sure all the moisture stays on the outside.
