Acknowledging the greater strain put on wheels by weightier e-bikes, HUNT has released a new wheelset. The E-Enduro Wide E-MTB wheels are designed with strength and durability at the forefront to meet the demands that e-bikes create.

The 6069-T6 rim features a 37mm internal width and it’s claimed to be 69% stronger than a traditional 6061-T6 constructed rim. To make this wheelset stronger, the rim wall tapers to be 25% thicker with 41% more material at the rim bed compared to the brands existing Enduro Wide wheelset.

The J-bend spokes are thicker triple butted PSR reinforced pillar spokes laced to large body e-mtb specific hubs that have heat sinks to dissipate heat. There are 32 spokes on the front wheel and 36 at the rear.

The hubs are boost spaced (110/148) and the freehub uses 6×1 pawls for greater resistance under load. There are also large double-sealed bearings to keep the wheels rolling smoothly.

The axles are extra thick at 17mm. This not only increases strength and stiffness but it also reduces flex at the bearings, ensuring a longer life.

The E-Enduro Wide wheels are optimised for 2.5-2.8″ tyre widths but the brand claims that they work very well with 2.3 to 3.0″ widths, so they’ll be happy running almost any tyre.

The HUNT E-Enduro Wide E-MTB wheelset is available in 650b and 29″ sizes, and a set of one of each. You can pre-order now which will set you back £429.

They’re also available with XD, Microspline and the Shimano/Sram freehub bodies.
