The Crankbrothers range of shoes has been well-established for a few years now, garnering many great reviews and helping the world’s best mountain bike athletes succeed on the trails. Today, the brand has expanded its range with the Stamp Boa and Mallet Trail Boa shoes.

As well as catering to those with a penchant for type-two fun, Crankbrothers says the new Mallet and Stamp Trail shoes are positioned to redefine the trail concept – a bold claim indeed.

For the Crankbrothers Trail lineup, they get an all-new tread pattern that has been built for versatility, so that’s grip underfoot when walking but without interfering with interaction with the pedal. Compared to the current Stamp and Mallet shoes, it looks deeper and more aggressive, so it should dig in during those hike-a-bike jaunts.

The shoe’s upper is designed to bolster protection, making it a capable clog for even the most rigorous enduro riding. It also gets ‘strategic ventilation zones’ that have been included to keep things comfy and cool. The shoe is also slimmer than its stablemates but this has been done without sacrificing vital protection. Retention is handled by way of a Velcro strap and Boa dial.

As well as the Boa equipped shoes, Crankbrothers is bringing a Lace version to the market, however this one gets a slightly different intention. The Stamp and Mallet Trail Lace shoes benefit from a different upper that’s been crafted in the pursuit of comfort and versatility. These uppers use the same synthetic material but they’re littered with perforations to encourage breathability and ventilation.  They’re also shaped with a more relaxed fit for comfort over those longer rides.

As for prices, the Mallet Trail Boa will set you back £220, while the Stamp Trail Boa is £200. The Mallet Trail Lace is priced at £170 and the Stamp Trail Lace is £150.
