If I disable javascript, I get the behaviour you describe (images not loading, three blobs, text only). In some browsers, it is possible to disable javascript on a per website basis. I wonder if this has somehow happened on your computer?
Same.
I get this occasionally too. The site comes from road.cc's server but their images come from a content delivery network (cdn77.com) via cdn.road.cc.
It's not uncommon that one is slower than the other or even offline, especially if you've blockers or VPNs in the mix.
I'm seeing 'm.stripe.network' in the 'loading' message at bottom left. Sounds like a link skimmer or some such undesirable and unnecessary inconvenience.
Please road.cc, just revert to whatever you were doing last year, which worked fine. This website is broken in 2021.
stripe is a payment system - and that url is part of a javascript call (see stripjs section) seems legit...
https://stripe.com/privacy-center/legal#stripejs
Could be a javascript blocker your end? Try a different browser?
Or maybe a DNS cache issue? Maybe try changing your DNS server to google's 8.8.8.8?
Stripe is part of the subscriber set up so is legit for this site.
What happens with a different browser?
All fine for me, ads are ok, on wifi or 4g.
maybe clear all your cookies and sign in again?
Yeah, tried that last week but will try it again. Thanks for the reminder!
Well here we are a week later and its still rubbish. This is only happening with Road.cc. I'm a subscriber, I'm logged in and all ad blocking is turned off and the site whitelisted. Images spend ages with the 'three blobs' gif and then just disappear without loading.
Not having any probs here. Maybe something at your end? I mostly use mobile, only issue is the beam comparison thing won't work, never has on mobile.
Think it is adverts. Suscribe and it sound go away... AND you support the site
Wouldn't that also get rid of the marketing brochure copy reviews though
I am a subscriber.
On EE 5G it doesn't load for me but it's fine and dandy over WiFi, i suspect the issue is to do with the website hosting services
Still awful here, I'm staring at those three blobs gifs for ever, and it's not my internet that's the problem... and I've whitelisted road.cc so it's not adblock either.
Sort it out, road.cc!
Do you use a script blocker? Could be an unresponsive script.
No script blocker here, all adblockers turned off and I'm a subscriber.
That must be it then! Suspend the subs and go shields-up!
Do you have any add-ons in your browser?
One of those might be causing an issue or some script is running that is slowing it down.
Yes, I'm trying turning them off one by one...
Try putting your web browser in
pornprivate mode and see if that makes any difference.yes - on my iPad - seems to be very slow some times
Perhaps it's all the advertising that is taking so long. I thought that getting rid of advertising was part of the subscriber's covenant: we pay and road.cc drops the irrelevant ads. Yet here I sit, staring at ads for holidays I can't go on.
Are you logged in? No ads for me if I log in, if not.........
Yes I'm logged in.
No issues here, but I use an ad/tracker blocker at my network firewall (pfBLockerNG) so none of that ever has a chance to load. All of the road.cc content is loading without delay. I suspect the plethora of ad's on this site that are hosted by 3rd parties are the cause of your issue.
using Firefox, which has ad blocking, it has been struggling to access the site properly, but then windows has also been playing up with updates, and firefox keeps updating, so Im not sure which is cause & effect yet. Edge which doesnt block ads seems ok.
