Welcome to the York Rally.
The York Rally is an annual gathering of cyclists on the Knavesmire in York. It ran for almost 70 years since its foundation in 1945 until its temporary demise after the 2012 event. Now an independent group of volunteers, some new to the event and some long-serving stalwarts, have revived the Rally for 2015, supported by the Friends of the York Rally.

This event is actually all weekend - the 20th and 21st as well
Tired of over-commercial, expensive cycling events? Come then to the York Rally, a traditional, volunteer-organised celebration of cycling. Building on a 70-year history this is an old-fashioned grand weekend of cycling with some modern touches, all set on the Knavesmire in York. There's camping on site and masses to do for all ages and abilities including:
- rides from five miles to 50 and more plus a 100k Audax, with a good selection of family rides away from traffic.
- Watch (or take part in!) National Series grasstrack racing in the arena, and Yorkshire Cycle -Cross Summer Series racing!
- Be amazed by the Pedal Power Invention Convention, an educational and inspiring collection of creations from the country's most ingenious cycle inventors and builders!
- There's a trade show, displays from cycling clubs, catering, showers, an auction for cycling bargains and live music and a bar in the evening.
It's free to get in and almost everything on site, including the rides, is free too. Come along for a grand day out or a whole weekend of cycling!
