Concours des Alpes Sportive
The Concours des Alpes, is a multi-stage sportive for riders who want something just a bit more special than the Etape du Tour, something less grandiose (and less pricy) than the Haute Route.
If riders can get themselves to Geneva airport for July 12th that’s the sum of the logistics. Accommodation is in fantastic chalets in the mountains near Bourg St. Maurice, great chefs with a superb menu of three course meals for all but one of the 7 days and the riding…well, 5 days of stunning, Etape-styles rides, a mini Tour de France with a prologue, mountain time trial and 4 big days in the mountains featuring Tour icons like the Col de la Madeleine and the Cormet de Roselend. And because this is a small event there are amazing routes that bigger events wouldn’t be able to squeeze through - the climb on the front of the brochure / web site is typical of that. There’ll be bragging rights that few other riders will ever have.
Not only that, there’s an option to go and see the Tour nearby on the last day.
Like other Sportives it’s competitive if you want it to be, your own pace if not. In a catalogue of amazing rides you’ll take in iconic Tour climbs and some serious challenges.
Accommodation, transport, support and catering are part of the deal (bar one self catering day).
Being competitive in the Concours is entirely optional. Some will come just to ride and enjoy it. Other will like to picture themselves as Froome-style climbers.
The Concours des Alpes is going to be an unforgettable event; small, friendly, challenging, hassle-free, something entrants be talking about for years. This is so much more than just another Sportive.
Entrants can book in immediately, get in touch right away, visit the web site, or check out the Facebook page for the updates and behind the scenes glimpses.
