A new catch-all Tea Shop thread for those miscellaneous new stories that don’t quite fit with parking, crashing into buildings or trapped/prisoners in their homes.

    “I just lost concentration,

“I just lost concentration, the dog jumped on my lap”

I’m rather surprised this didn’t get him off completely, on the ‘I didn’t mean to do it’ principle so often accepted as mitigation for driver offences- maybe it’s because it wasn’t just a cyclist who was killed. The police are usually acting on behalf of the offender: I had a photo of 3 large dogs in the front passenger compartment of an ordinary car and the Lancashire traffic police sergeant wrote: It [sic] might have been properly restrained

Colchester driver killed beloved dad when veering into wrong lane when his dog jumped onto his lap

The 66-year-old motorcyclist was thrown into a hedge after the crash and sadly died at the scene

Mr Sorel-Cameron said (driver) McAndrew began speaking aloud at the scene, initially phoning his insurance company before being told to stop by residents attending the scene, and then saying “I just lost concentration, the dog jumped on my lap”.

I think you’d need at least 5 metres to park a Tesla.

    ‘I’ve had tons of death

‘I’ve had tons of death threats on email because I drive a Tesla’

Mitchell Feldman said one man laughed in his face, and asked if he ‘supported Elon Musk by driving a Tesla

On March 6, 2025, Mitchell was at a Teddy Swims concert in Wembley when he parked his Tesla in the car park. He said he could see a young man pointing at him and laughing which made him feel “violated”.

Mitchell said: “I parked outside the parking metre, as I pulled up, there was a youngish guy with his partner, and daughter laughing and pointing at me. When I got out of the car, he came up to be quite abrasive and said ‘I presume you support Elon Musk driving one of those’.

“I felt quite violated, I didn’t know what to say. He then laughed at me and walked away with his family. I had never experienced anything like that.

Mitchell then wrote a post about his experience on LinkedIn where he received more backlash and death threats as a result. Despite the hate he has received, Mitchell has no intentions of getting rid of his Tesla and is planning on ordering the new Model Y.

Mitchell said: “I found out that the new model Y is available in the UK, and I will be ordering a new one. I am waiting for a phone call from Elon Musk to say thank you for the post and here is a free Cyber Truck.

“If anything, it has made me more steadfast in my support.”

Pike “I’ve finished painting them lines you asked for, Mr Mainwaring”

Mainwaring to Wilson “you see that, Wilson done in no time at all, resourcefulness and graft, that’s what these men have got”

Wilson “yes, sir it’s really quite marvellous”

(Cut to 4 feet of lines – audience laughter)

Mainwaring “you stupid boy, that’s meant to go around the corner and up to the Novelty Rock Emporium “

Pike “it wasn’t my fault, that’s all the paint there was” (holds up empty paint tin)

Walker “I know a bloke who can finish that”

No – it has a section of the verge that’s been worn away by people parking/driving on it.

(Incidentally, he’s let himself go a bit since his Doctor Who days, hasn’t he?)

Apparently, he is even a doctor, as the article refers to him as Dr. Tennant in at least one place.

Surely it would be easier to just go back in time to before the tyre damage and drive properly next time, than to sue the council.
