Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes…

I just don’t remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it’s irresponsible.

‘A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

“It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment.” ‘

Pensioner ploughed into Wig and Pen pub when he pushed wrong pedal

One pubgoer was in hospital for a week for pelvis surgery after what a judge called a ‘deeply troubling’ incident

Prosecutor Lewis Aldous said it had been an “extended momentary lapse” when Roper lost control of his Peugeot car on the steep one way street near his home, “when his foot was on the wrong pedal”.

Roper was fined £270 and ordered to pay £1,500 towards costs and given a 12 month driving ban and told he will need to take an extended test if he wants to drive in the future.

The screeching tyres tell me that, under the hard deceleration, the concept of A speed is not applicable – he’s doing a lot more than 44mph before he crosses that junction

    It goes about three car

It goes about three car lengths in 20 frames.

    3 * 4.5 m / 20 frames * 30 frames/s = 20 m/s = 72 km/h = 44 MPH

Yeah, but how can you see a yellow vehicle against all those other yellow vehicles?

From the MEN website (paywalled) it looks like a “kissing at a junction” scenario.  If only we could make these places less prone to collisions – perhaps with some kind of “signalling” system and rules…?
