Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes…

I just don’t remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it’s irresponsible.

‘A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

“It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment.” ‘

Paywall but you get the gist.
He faces allegations he drove dangerously before his unmarked police vehicle was in collision with three other vehicles and a garden wall on Streatham Common North, when responding to a reported terrorist attack on 2 February 2020

“They also said “With rain now on the roads please bear this in mind before planting the loud pedal”

Watching ch5s Motorway (it’s no Police Interceptors), a Lamborghini managed to crash in the rain, a brand known for awful handling, what with its 4 wheel drive and motorways being mostly straight lines…

The cars lost control of the vehicles ????

Although the standard of reporting can be seen in another story on the front page about champagne. Apparently there is one call “verb clique”

Now, I don’t expect them to know every brand but surely that description stood out as wrong?

(veuve clicquot is the make – a glass of the widow please)

Does anyone know if the driver was attempting to get to a site to deliver the Portakabins or following a cheap Chinese sat nav designed for car use and not one programmed for lorry routes ? “

    van gets stuck on notorious

van gets stuck on notorious Devon tidal road

It eventually took a tractor to rescue the van which had fallen off the road

Andrew (man in a Land Rover) told DevonLive: “I’ve used [Aveton Gifford tidal road] a few times but I’ve never caught the tide so I wanted to go through it when it was a bit deeper to test my vehicle out.
He continued “I even got my ‘phone out while driving to take a picture – how neat is that?”

My poor little uninsured, unregistered cyclist brain gets fried by this sort of thing – doom and gloom everywhere about the cost of living, etc, but Andrew is going do the driving equivalent of putting your hand on the hot plate to test it…

The idea of there being a

The idea of there being a Swaffham CID appealed to me, a kind of Hot Fuzz setup.

“Anyone with any information should contact Swaffham CID on 101 quoting incident 475 of yesterday’s date (August 16)”

are there really 475 matters referred to Swaffham CID by 8 pm?

Must have been a dangerous cyclist breaking the speed limit. And with no insurance.

Good use by witness of the word “kerfuffle”, though placed alongside “carnage” and two men with axes, I don’t know if it is an entirely appropriate word.

Or – if we want to run a more individualistic model (like US) – just lock people up (or allow citizens to do DIY law and order). However it seems we’re falling between those stools, at least when it comes to the roads.[/quote

You mean like do a high-speed reverse up the road with a view to “getting” a cyclist?

    Driving around in Cornwall

Driving around in Cornwall must be an absolute nightmare, it wasn’t easy for my parents driving us around on our holidays 40 odd years ago, and they never had a big car.

What it must be like now with far more of the things about and most of them being huge…

Unfortunately Mevagissey isn’t the sort of place that could easily ban cars from the centre. You can’t make it residents/permit holders only unless you wanted to create a 10 mile diversion to get to Portmellon. It is a terrible place to drive through or around, but needs must at times
