    Could maybe have been this?

Nah, it was a 9 speed SRAM chain with a 9 speed Wipperman link on it. I couldn’t fit the SRAM links that came with it. I’ve fitted lots of links of various types before but these were too tight.

Hopefully I have some kind of other spare 9 speed links somewhere in the garage. I guess I could pinch the link off the Orbea, it’s a summer bike.

Is anywhere doing nice 9 speed chains on special?

i had my powerlink ping off
i had my powerlink ping off on my mtb last time i went to afan. didn’t have a spare so i had to re-join the chain, sadly it was one of those chains that isn’t designed to be re-joined. It snapped three more times and i ended up in the granny ring only, then singlespeed, then walking for the last half a mile 😐

i use the BBB ones now. they’re reusable, unlike the stock SRAM ones

This is not me (honest) but
This is not me (honest) but this was my route to work…. http://www.thisisnorthdevon.co.uk/images/localpeople/ugc-images/275834/Gallery/images/17656823/4422674.jpg

I tried to kayak down this street a few years ago and was told, “You are taking the piss f**k off” By a Police officer (fair comment) this time there were people kayaking and long-boarding (with a paddle). The £1.2M flood defences have just been completed…. Ouch!

But the best bike shop in Devon (Southfork in Braunton) was OK…. Phew
