At least you can’t screw many more trqansfers up.

I have 19 remaining before tomorrow’s stage. Lots of chances to screw things up.

Wow, that is going to be tough.
I think the rankings can change quite alot from here depending on how many transfers we have held back.
I have 13 and even then I would like a few more and regret wasting some others.

The next two stages could
The next two stages could prove interesting. There will be a bit of wind on both days and long stretches with cross/tail wind. Sky and others are sure to try and split things up.
I still expect a sprint tomorrow so bringing 5 sprinters in.

Hard to know what to think now….other than he may not be the favourite for stage 17 anymore…three days with maximum rest for him, surely.I watched it on play back and it was still quite exciting.
Stage 17 is for the break imo. QS will have to do some work on stage 16 and then conrol the start of stage 18. So I think it it unlikely they go for stage 17 with Alaphilippe. But given the effects of ketones on recovery, who knows?
Only thing I have learnt so far this TdF is the Mitchelton Scott are doing something seriously wrong in the preparation of riders. Simon was abysmal in Italy and Adam is abysmal in France. Simon looking favourite for KoM now, unless a GC rider gets it.

Of the other teams Sky & Sunweb and other teams have said they are not using them becuase of unknown long term health impact.
The miraculous transformation of Alaphilippe into a world class climber does suggest that something is going on.
Hmm if it looks like doping and acts like doping it should be classed as doping. Let’s hope WADA pull their finger out and ban them – particularly as there are no long term health studies of their use.

A quite staggering couple of
A quite staggering couple of stats on Eurosport today about Kruijswijk. Just like Buchmann I think he’s a fantastic rider. He seems to know that he doesn’t have the legs to actually win many stages but he’s always utterly dependable for a high finish both on the stages an overall.
Eurosport confirmed that today…Amazingly he has only ever won one stage (tour de Suisse) and one overall win (Arctic tour of Norway 2011 with a really weak field)
How is that even possible for a rider of that quality.

I have both Bernal and Ala….but….broadly speaking something like Buchmann and Uran could be similar in pts and cost to something like Alaphillipe and Meurisse….and could well be the right way to go after the flatter stages. In other words…to afford Ala at the moment requires a sacrifice somewhere…so he has to be looked at as half of a pair.
