Are you favouring Sprinters or Climbers?Alaphilippe too expensive for me, also a lot of people doubt he will be able to repeat last year’s results, the long high climbs don’t really suit him and to win KoM you need to get the double HC points. By the time the race gets to those stages there will be ‘proper’ climbers far enough back to get in the break and Ala will struggle to beat them.
My pursit team has 1 sprinter, 3 GC riders, 3 all rounders and a cheap shot. Because I am way down on purist, I went with a few ‘outside’ picks in a ‘do or die’ attempt to make up ground.
My Standard team has 7 climbers for Stage 1.

I quite like those stages in GTs, mixes things up and gives cobbles specialists the chance for a famous win.Initially I thought they were a good variation, giving more aggressive riders like Nibali an advantage but after last year I think the overall impact on the GC is negative.
Last year Thomas extended his lead over the other GC riders to a minute and that killed the race.

This race is a lot more
This race is a lot more subtle than the Giro or Vuelta…not so many mad swings from one day to the next with the terrain….it’s all in blocks of type again. Breakaway stages hard to identify as well.

If not I suspect he will retire.
Hopefully when he retires he gets a job with Eurosport, it will be fun listening to him rather than the droning bullshit from Brian Smith.
That’ll be good….although I don’t actually mind the droning bullshit. It’s just nice, gentle television.
