Specialized has released the new Vado 3 e-bike range, which it describes as “more than the greatest e-bike we’ve ever created”. The bikes feature Specialized’s own motor system, flat bars, a suspension fork, and built-in Apple Find My technology. The e-bikes are available in two models – the standard Vado 3 and the more adventure-oriented Vado 3 Evo – with prices starting at £3,599.

The standard Vado 3 is designed for city commutes, while the Vado 3 Evo is more adventure-ready, with features that make it suited for rougher terrain. Each model comes in three levels – 6.0, 5.0, and 4.0 – offering a range of components and prices.
Specialized says the range ”sets a new benchmark for exceptional power, refined performance, and seamless technology”.
All models feature the brand’s 3.1 motor which delivers 810W and 105Nm, paired with an 840Wh battery that claims a range of up to 150km. According to Specialized, “Vado 3 serves up SuperNatural performance that feels completely natural in motion”.

The differences between the 6.0, 5.0, and 4.0 levels come mainly in components and weight.
The top-tier 6.0 models come with a Sram Eagle AXS 12-speed groupset, while the 5.0 models use 11-speed Shimano Cues, and the entry-level 4.0 models feature 9-speed Shimano Cues.
All bikes also feature a suspension fork, but the 6.0 models are fitted with RockShox Psylo forks, while the 5.0 and 4.0 use SR Suntour forks.

The Vado 3’s suspension and handling are said to be tuned by Specialized’s “World-Championship-winning Ride Dynamics Team”, designed to keep riders comfortable and confident, according to the brand.
Specialized describes the Evo models as “for riders who go farther and roam wider… with more capability, more confidence, and more comfort”. This is reflected in their longer-travel 120mm forks (compared with 90mm on standard models) and wider all-terrain tyres, making them better suited for off-road riding.

All models also feature a new digital keyless security system with built-in Apple Find My technology, offering “future-proof” anti-theft protection, and a Garmin Varia Rearview Radar to alert you of vehicles approaching from behind.
Weight ranges from 28.55kg for the Vado 3 4.0 up to 31.1kg for the Vado 3 Evo 6.0.

Prices start at £3,599 for the 4.0 models with Shimano Cues 9-speed shifting and go up to £5,999 for the 6.0 models with 12-speed Sram Eagle AXS. All models come standard with mudguards, a rear rack, front and rear lights, and a kickstand.
