Are you a weight weenie? We have a must-have product for you: a carbon fibre out-front computer mount.
Out-front mounts for popular cycling computers from the likes of Garmin and Wahoo have been all the rage since they were first introduced about five or six years ago, and there are now plenty of options. Well, except if you want a carbon fibre mount that is.

That all changes with the launch of the Stelvio carbon computer mount from Italian company Alptitude Components. We first saw the mount on display at the recent Bespoked UK Handbuilt Bicycle show, where company founder Andrea Sega was showing it off alongside his Werking Cycles bike brand.
Making the mount from carbon fibre ensures it’ll satisfy even the most demanding weight weenie, with a claimed weight of just 15g. The hollow carbon fibre arm, available in short (79mm) and normal (89mm) lengths, supports a range of computer mounts, with Garmin, Wahoo and Polar computers currently supported.

At the other end, an aluminium bracket attaches to the stem face plate with an adjustable design that can accommodate different faceplate bolt dimensions with enough adjustment to ensure the computer is aligned centrally. The only stems the company says the Stelvio isn’t compatible with are the THM Tibia stem, Extralite Hyperstem, AX Lightness stems and Fizik Cyrano stems.
Such lightness doesn’t come cheap mind, and a €85 price tag ensures it’s one for the well-heeled. Obviously, we’ve asked if we can test one and see how it compares to the many other out-front computer mounts we’ve tested over the years.

So it isn’t compatible with some of the lightest stems available? this seems like a slight miss considering their target market no?

Probably why they have specified these ones. AX Lightness thread from the back and the THM bolts are sunk quite far. Hyperstem would probably just be a bit scary
