Fabian Cancellara’s “Spartacus” bike now available to buy through Project One

Trek makes commemorative bike available to buy

You’ve seen it in the Tour de France, now you can buy it for yourself. We’re talking about the custom painted Trek Madone that Fabian Cancellara has been riding in his last season as a professional of course.

The unique paint job has been designed to commemorate the impressive career that Cancellara has had since becoming a professional 16 years ago. The colourful graphics represent the colours of the various teams he has raced for, and his many race victories are listed along the top tube and rear stays of the frame.

Presumably due to demand, it was the first question we asked Trek when we photographed the bike before the start of the race, Trek has made the paint job available through its Project One website.

As well as the Madone that Cancellara has been riding, it’ll be available on the Domane as well.

"While the bikes garnered attention throughout the season, none thus far has caused the overwhelming reaction from fans and media as the Fabian Tour Edition. Conceptualized by Trek graphic designer Brian Lindstrom, and hand-painted in Waterloo, WI, the bike is a graphical representation of the palmares and various jerseys the rider known throughout the world as “Spartacus” has adorned over a professional career spanning 16 years," says Trek.

As well as choosing the Spartacus paint job, you can also customise the build to suit your budget. So how big a Cancellara fan are you?

Being able to shout 'I am Spartacus' is a legitimate n+1 reason right...
