Nairo Quintana appears on Colombian TV singing show dressed as a chameleon

VIDEO: The usually reserved climber performed a remix of Rhythm of the Night on the Colombian version of the Masked Singer

Nairo Quintana has performed on a Colombian version of the Masked Singer - dressed as a chameleon.

Scenes of the little Colombian, not necessarily known for his extroverted character, 'dancing' and singing have now gone viral.

The show, which was pre-recorded, was broadcast just hours after Quintana crossed the line in 11th place at Il Lombardia.

The Masked Singer is a TV show in which celebrities perform songs disguised in unusual costumes while other celebrities have to guess who they are based on their singing.

Sadly for Quintana, who is well known in his home country after he made history by becoming the first Colombian to win the Giro d'Italia, the panel failed to identify him from his performance.

The celebs said after they were 'gobsmacked' they hadn't realised it was the 'iconic' cyclist was behind the mask.

The show, which airs on Canal RCN, saw the Arkéa-Samsic rider perform a rendition of Corona's Rhythm of the Night.

You can see a short clip below of what some have called the finest piece of cycling/music related content since that Astana rap video

I feel embarrassed for journalists everywhere when I read an article that calls Naito Quintana "diminutive" or a "little Colombian." Show some respect, please.

Isn't it about time people stopped feeling embarrased/ashamed/sorry/upset (pick your own emotion) on behalf of other people?  Quintana IS diminutive and he IS Colombian so why do those descriptions embarrase you?  Would you feel the same if they described him as "fast" or "tenacious", both (I believe) equally apt descriptions of him so why do you feel embarrased on someone else's behalf at their choice of description?

at 1.67m and 59kg he's 15cm shorter and 10kg lighter than my 13-year-old son, so he is quite little really, in the grand scheme of things. love to watch him race though.

The Masked Signer...

I'm not sure that looks like any kind of recognised sign language.

If you are referring to the country in South America then it's Colombia, not Columbia.
