Rollapaluza bring cyclo cross with a twist to Herne Hill this Halloween

Halloween event promises racing through the beer tent and large cash prizes

Night time cyclo-cross racing and cash prizes comes to London this Halloween courtesy of roller-racing outfit Rollapaluza. Inspired by Belgian cyclo-cross races the joint promotion between Rollapaluza and VCL cycling clubs will also feature a course that runs through the beer tent and events for novice, singlespeed mountain bikes, and fixed wheel riders.

Rollapaluza events usually pull in a broad range of cyclists and spectators and they're hoping for the same at this event so will be having a special "Go Race" event for novice cross or MTB riders, single speed mountain bikers and fixed wheel riders as well as free entry to those who just want to watch the action and soak up the atmosphere.

Racing kicks off just after sunset with the youth categories, the more adult-oriented action takes place later as the night darkens.... and yes they are planning on running the course right through the bar tent!

Despite the fun element and fancy dress, the big cash prizes offered by event sponsor Tour de Ville are expected to pull in some serious racers too. Tour de Ville owner (and former Dutch Junior champion) Jos Van Veldhoven is enthusiastic about his involvement in the even – he raced cross regularly in his youth some of his Dutch racing pals may even make the trip over.

Full details of entry, programme and other activities will be found on the event website below or contact Rollapaluza direct at: www.rollapaluza.com/cross

Might take the singlespeed down, could be fun. Till it starts to hurt!

I'll maybe take my kids. It's just down the road and we're regulars at Herne Hill.
