The Stoepedist Week ends with five Classics conquered in seven days (+ videos)

Six cyclists take on routes of five of cycling's biggest one day races - and win...

You may remember our article from a couple of weeks ago about The Stoepedist Week, with six cyclists aiming to ride the routes of five Classics in just seven days – well, to borrow a line from The Italian Job (the original movie, naturally), “Have you heard, sir? They’ve done it!”

The group – Bicycling editor at large Bill Strickland, photographer  Chris Milliman, David Alvarez, Jeff Lockwood, Mark Taylor and Belgian pro cyclocross rider Ben Berden – began their adventure last Sunday by riding the parcours of Gent-Wevelgem and finished on Saturday Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

On the way, they also tackled the routes of the Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix and Amstel Gold, for a total of 1,263 kilometres in the saddle.

The journey was undertaken on Stoemper bikes – Alvarez, along with Todd Gardner, is one of the men behind the brand, which is now branching out from cyclocross into road bikes. Clothing was supplied by Castelli, with other backers including ENVE and Easton.

Some of the action from what was always going to be a tough week - and one that presumably will leave the particpants saddle sore for a while to come - is captured in the videos below from Stoemper.
