Team Sky's Ben Swift to post Tour de France video diaries + video

Watch the first installment here

Ben Swift the young sprinter riding his first Tour de France with Team Sky has posted the first in a series of what he hopes will be a daily video diary charting his experiences at the race.

He's already posted the first installment and it's fair to say he's pretty excited to be taking part, but then who wouldn't be? He probably isn't going to be reading this, but if you are Ben… try and look at the camera when you're talking! It's okay Dave Brailsford is not going to take the camera off you. Probably.

Seriously though, things like Swifty's video diary really do help to give the rest of us a real insight in to what it's like to be on the inside taking part in a race like the Tour - something that just wouldn't have been possible even a handful of years ago. Here's hoping that we'll be hearing from Ben all the way to Paris and that he keeps smiling all the way too.

You can follow Ben Swift's video diary at the Tour on his website www.benswift.com there's also a clip on there of him taking on Otis from the Gadget Show… Otis is on a power assisted bike.

road.cc'snder and first editor, nowadays to be found riding a spreadsheet. Tony's journey in cycling media started in 1997 as production editor and then deputy editor of Total Bike, acting editor of Total Mountain Bike and then seven years as editor of Cycling Plus. He launched his first cycling website - the Cycling Plus Forum at the turn of the century. In 2006 he left C+ to head up the launch team for Bike Radar which he edited until 2008, when he co-launched the multi-award winning road.cc - finally handing on the reins in 2021 to Jack Sexty. His favourite ride is his ‘commute’ - which he does most days inc weekends and he’s been cycle-commuting since 1994. His favourite bikes are titanium and have disc brakes, though he'd like to own a carbon bike one day.

Whilst it's nice to look at some great illustrations I think you might have been after this Ben Swift's website - http://www.benswiftcycling.com/videos

I was almost convinced by "other ben swift"'s drawing of a bike... but then I saw the photo on the about page.
