Cyclist dies after crashing into lamppost in Telford

Police appeal for witnesses

West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses after a 43-year-old Telford woman died after losing control of her bike and crashing into a lamppost.

The incident occurred on Bishopdale, Brookside at around 9.15pm on Wednesday April 11. The woman is believed to have lost control of her mountain bike, mounted the grass verge and collided with the lamppost.

The Shropshire Star reports that an off duty fire officer was first on the scene and began CPR.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Crews arrived to find a cyclist, a woman, who had collided with a lamppost and was in cardiac arrest.

“Bystanders were already administering CPR and crews quickly took over resuscitation efforts. Sadly, nothing could be done to save the woman and she was confirmed dead on scene.”

Officers investigating the collision made house to house enquiries and are appealing for any witnesses to contact get in touch on 101, quoting incident 694s of April 11 2018.

You have a fair few of the hallmarks of an insecure bully. Im not going to go into the psycho babble of it all, but playing the victim card (oh, youre a stalker) when called out on your hypocritical bullshit is just one.

I do not believe we shall be interacting again.

Good day.

Tragic. I do worry people take up sports cycling but sadly sometimes go a bit too fast when their skills dont match the speed and conditions. Of course this poor lady migth have been doing a calm pace.

Here's the witness contact details for you "Anyone with information should contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident 694s of April 11.". They'll be pleased to get your input on what exactly happened.

RIP sister.

Agreed. This idle speculation does noone any favours.

Good post, too; just the right amount of smart arsed passive agressive that is so subtle that it might just have gone over the guys head and without a hint of self irony, keeping in mind the «nearly paralyzed» Andrew Gilligan thing.

Just like that other muppet, you can do one too! Nothing personal, I just don't have a thing for stupid stalkers.

Too subtle for you, obviously, playing the man and not the ball.

Adios.

So what you're saying is you have no clue whatsoever as to what happened  but you'll have a wild stab in the dark at both ends of the scale.

Moronic comment and disrespectful.

Desperately sad and well done to those who tried to save her. let's hope there was no foul play that had a hand in her coming off.
