Mario Cipollini strips off for a bike ride - AGAIN

Italian sprint legend in publicity stunt for latest addition to his MCipollini bike range

Italian sprinting legend Mario Cipollini has posted a picture of himself nude on the bicycle sporting nothing but a helmet, sunglasses, mitts, socks and shoes – and it’s not the first time he’s done it.

When he posted a picture of himself in the buff to Facebook in February last year, it was to make a point to people who had criticised him for not wearing a helmet while riding in social media posts.

His latest picture, posted to Instagram yesterday, is a teaser for a forthcoming addition to his MCipollini range of bikes.

Ci siamo messi a nudo ... E tra poco sveleremo anche lei

The frame of the bike itself is blanked out, with Cipollini adding a caption that translates as: “We got naked – and soon we’ll reveal her, too” (the Italian word for bicycle, bicicletta, being feminine).

Cipollini, who once said that if he weren't a cyclist he'd have become a porn star, turned 50 in March and the latest photo shows that he still has the imposing physique that took him to victories in the world championship and races including Milan-San Remo, as well as 57 Grand Tour stage wins, 42 of those in the Giro d’Italia alone.

As for his new bike, we’re guessing that will be unveiled at Eurobike in Germany, which starts on 30 August.
