Remember the video trailer released recently for the forthcoming HBO mockumentary, Tour de Pharmacy? Well, a new extended length one has now hit YouTube, and it’s suitably bonkers.

The film is due to air in the US on 8 July – there’s no word yet on if or when it will screen in the UK – and features a host of stars including Kevin Bacon, Orlando Blum, Jeff Goldblum, Mike Tyson and even a cameo from Lance Armstrong.

Created by Andy Samberg and Murray Miller, it is directed by Jake Szymanski. According to a press release issued alongside the original trailer,

In 1982, during a dark and fictitious time in cycling history, the sport’s most venerable, time-honoured race was marred by the doping of virtually all of its competitors,” says a press release.

Riddled with nefarious characters, that year’s competition was a hornet’s nest of moral depravity. Through the perspective of five riders, Tour de Pharmacy gives an inside look into the grim realities of the darkest event in a sport notoriously tainted by controversy.
