Jarlinson Pantano of IAM Cycling has won Stage 14 of the Tour de France, the Colombian catching lone escapee Rafal Majka of Tinkoff with 8.5km left of today's 160km stage from Bourg-en-Bresse.
The pair had both been in a 30-man breakaway that got away early in the stage, with a number of riders attacking from the group to try and get clear.
The pair who fought for the stage win were out in front on the first descent from the Grand Colombier with 35km left, together with Ilnur Zakarin of Katusha and Etixx-Quickstep's Julian Alaphilippe, the latter attacking but then crashing.
Majka, who almost crashed on the day's final descent from the Lacets du Grand Colombier, got the stage's combativity prize.
The Pole also moves back into the lead of the mountains competition, taking the polka dot jersey from Lotto-Soudal's Thomas De Gendt.
Race leader Chris Froome crossed the line a little more than 3 minutes later and retains a 1 minute 47 second lead from Trek-Segafredo's Bauke Mollema at the top of the General Classification.
Stage winner Pantano said: "The Tour de France is the best race in the world. To make the podium is a dream come true. It's incredible. The last climb has been extremely hard. Rafal Majka was going very strongly but I knew I had a chance to catch him downhill. That's what happened. When you have such an opportunity, you have to give it all. This is the most important win of my life, something I've always dreamt of.
"There are more Colombian climbers than just Nairo [Quintana] and Esteban [Chaves]. I was third at the Tour de l'Avenir won by Nairo [in 2010]. My progression in professional cycling is a steady one. Since I entered the WorldTour two years ago, I've improved a lot. All the hard work and sacrifices pay off now.
"Froome has proven to be very strong but he can have a bad day too and lose time. The Tour de France will finish in Paris. Froome has already won the Tour twice but Nairo is also very strong and I wouldn't consider now that he has already lost the race.”
Race leader Froome said: "This morning I expected more attacks to come from my rivals. During the race I expected them from Movistar in particular because they had two strong guys in the breakaway.
"Valverde had a go when Aru made his move. Obviously Bardet tried his move at the top but I had the feeling that no one had the legs to make a difference. Earlier up the hill I wanted to see the state of play.
"I accelerated to know who would follow me and I saw Nairo Quintana on my wheel quite quickly. I wanted to know who'd be likely to move near the top of the Grand Colombier.
"Coming to the Tour, I said I was in a very privileged position because it was the strongest team that Team Sky ever sent to the Tour. With me, I have riders who would be leaders in other teams."
Here's today's onboard footage.

I think he needs more altitude to get his edge which is why he leaves it until the high alps, but I agree, no one is attacking froome
Where is Quintana though? Has he not learnt his lesson from last year where he left it too late? Perhaps he doesn't have the legs but he's not going to win the tour by following wheels.
