Appeal for witnesses as 81-year-old cyclist dies following collision

Derek Cook passed away a week after incident in Stowmarket

Police in Suffolk have repeated a call for witnesses after an 81-year-old cyclist died from injuries sustained in a collision involving a car last week.

Derek Cook, from Stowmarket, died from head injuries at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

He had been taken there by air ambulance following the incident on Needham Road in Stowmarket at 3.40pm on Wednesday 30 September.

Suffolk Constabulary have asked anyone who saw the collision or who has information to call its Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101 quoting reference CAD 295 of 30 September.
